Picturing Spiritual & Scientific Reality: Healing the Rift by Bridging the Gap

Picturing Spiritual & Scientific Reality: Healing the Rift by
Bridging the Gap
By Leo Kim

Picturing Virtual Reality

Tommie, playing with his computer, asked me: “how does all that
stuff get on the screen?"

"The stuff is due to individual dots called pixels. Together,
they create the image."

"What are pixels?"

I explained that pixels are created by bits of energy. This
energy creates the individual pixels.

"So the stuff I see is just energy."

"Not quite,” I told him. “The stuff you see is created by
energy."

"Cool! So if I have energy, I can create the stuff on the
screen?"

"Well, you need one other critical item. You need information
to instruct the energy how to create the images. So, yes, with
energy and the right information, all that stuff can be
created."

"Then what's that box for?"

"That box is the computer that transforms the energy coming
from the wall through the cord. It uses information and energy
to create all that stuff."

"Awesome!"

I find it awesome that all the “stuff” of our world is believed
by scientists to come about through energy transformed by
information! But the explanation is far more complex than the
one I provided Tommie.

Picturing Scientific Reality

The pixels on computer screens change (or “refresh”) about 80
times/second. The pixels which make up us and our world change a
billion, trillion, trillion, trillion times/second. I call
these upixels (universal pixels). Scientists don’t know their
make up other than it is a form of energy—they can’t even agree
on its name. What is the size of the upixels? If the size of a
proton were enlarged to the size of the Milky Way these upixels
would be the size of a dust particle!

In the case of a computer, as the colored pixels disappear and
reappear, we perceive movement which creates the virtual
reality. The upixels making up our world are controlled by
information. Upixels disappear and before reappearing might move
to other universes and dimensions before creating our reality.
Does all this seem bizarre? It gets worse, in the last decade
scientists realize that 96% of the upixels are missing! Imagine
your computer screen with 96% of the pixels missing. Needless to
say scientists’ picture of reality is an inscrutable image.

Picturing Spiritual Reality

Spiritual and religious teachings generally agree that we
humans cannot picture reality, which usually includes God. In
general, religions teach that God and mystical reality are
different from what we experience in ordinary consciousness.

Jesus, according to the Gnostic script Gospel of Thomas 113,
said, “The kingdom of the Father is spread out upon the Earth,
and men do not see it.” Buddhists believe that it is impossible
to understand the world through our senses, philosophies, or
science. Judaism agrees that we cannot comprehend God. The Sufis
of Islam teach that metaphors and symbols cannot reveal the
divine. According to Hinduism, maya is the illusion of reality
in which we live. Taoism and Confucianism, although in many ways
different, both hold that reality is beyond human comprehension.
How do we resolve these seemingly different pictures of science
and spirituality?

Merging the Pictures and Healing the Rift

Let’s combine the two pictures. Let’s accept upixels as the
fundamental stuff of our world and fill an ocean with them.
Instead of water this ocean is filled with upixels. It is a
bottomless ocean extending infinitely in all directions. We and
our world are but one wave on the surface. We are lost in the
multitude of all the other waves and wonder: What was the origin
of our wave? What is our wave? What happens when our wave ceases
to exist?

Our wave began with the creation of the upixels. However, no
one knows when, how, or why the upixels were created. The
upixels are energy, so all the waves are an illusion. They are
immaterial energy. The ocean is an illusion for it also is
merely upixels, energy. There is so much we do not know about
this world. We don't know where the upixels go when they
disappear. We don't know where the new upixels come from when
they zip into our world for an instant.

We can neither fathom an infinitely deep and extensive ocean,
nor comprehend the meaning of other dimensions or worlds. We
perceive only a trillionth of what our world is, so we focus on
our wave that is within our perceptive capacity. We have
splintered into factions, each faction believing that they
understand our wave, know what caused the formation of our wave,
and comprehend what happens when our wave ceases to exist.

But the ancient sages and spiritual leaders teach us that all
of this is truly beyond our comprehension. They speak of the
essence of our wave surviving forever, long after it disappears.
They agree that, somehow, energy creates our reality. They agree
that we are one with nature and everything in the universe. They
agree that our immaterial essence survives death.

I find it essential to keep both pictures in mind.

Healing Family Relationships -- Love And The Gift Of Spiritual Awareness

Healing Family Relationships -- Love And The Gift Of Spiritual
Awareness
By Mashubi Rochell

Bringing healing to family relationships can be one of the most
difficult aspects of the spiritual healing process. The reason
for this is that we choose to incarnate within our specific
families for the purpose of healing and growth, which often
challenges us deeply to the core of our being. For many of us it
may feel as though healing is exactly the opposite of what we
are receiving with our families, as we endure the difficulties
and limitations of our relationships with our parents and
siblings.

Before incarnating, we choose families which can bring to the
surface specific issues and themes that our soul wishes to
explore, learn about and heal. Often these issues are
challenging and bring to the surface discomfort that we would
prefer go avoid rather than face. Some people deal with this
discomfort by placing blame on their parents or the situation
they were born into, which provides a temporary outlet for the
emotional pain they have experienced, but ultimately prevents
the free flow of love, light and healing in the heart.

As we grow personally and spiritually, there comes a time when
we are called to release ourselves from the emotional pain we
have carried from our childhood. There are steps in this
process, which may taker a shorter or longer time, or which may
involve many lifetimes of learning.

The first step we take is to become conscious of the pain we
are carrying. If we have repressed these feelings, they will
emerge when we are ready to face them. Sometimes an event such
as an illness or a loss can illuminate feelings we have buried
or forgotten. Once we become conscious of the pain and allow
ourselves to simply feel it, healing can begin. Being with the
pain, and bringing it before God is an essential part of the
process. In this way we are not alone, as the divine Creator who
is All sees, hears and feels with us. This can be done with
prayer, intention, meditation, creative expression, or any way
that resonates.

Once we have become more conscious of the pain we carry, the
next step involves the willingness to let go of our pain. Though
on the surface it may seem strange to want to hold onto pain,
there are many deep emotions that can become entrenched within
us, and wrapped around our sense of self. We unconsciously hold
on to the pain, because it is all we have ever known. For
example, if we are carrying anger, hurt or betrayal, we are
asked to forgive and to move on. If we were the victim of abuse
or neglect, we are asked to let go of our anger, and our
entitlement to be angry. This part of the process cannot be
rushed, which is why it is so important to be willing to feel
our emotions fully first. Once this happens, the next step of
healing naturally unfolds.

Once we have traversed these steps of becoming conscious,
feeling our pain, and being willing to let it go, then we are
fully available to receive a deep and complete healing. As we
voluntarily empty ourselves of those things we've been holding
onto, more of God’s love and light can enter our heart, mind and
body. The pathways of life begin to open up and reveal new
directions, new possibilities, and new choices. Our hearts begin
to open and love blossoms, forgiveness becomes a way of being,
and spiritual awareness awakens within us. These are the gifts
that come through healing family relationships, a heart full of
love and trust, unencumbered by the pain of the past.

Spiritual Healing For a Better Healthy Life

Spiritual Healing For a Better Healthy Life
By Irsan Gao

One has to realize that all the healing energy comes from the
God himself. The healer just acts as a medium to channel this
energy to the needy through their hands. The healer understands
the source from which the healing energy comes and thus remains
open, clear, detached and humble.

Spiritual healing provides great support for quick healing and
recovery which helps further in leading a healthy and contented
life ahead. There are people who experience many kinds of
traumas and loss in their lives. Through spiritual healing such
people get lot of support to keep their pains away.

Spiritual healing helps in the following ways.
• Relieves from pain.
• Energizes the organs.
• Lowers blood pressure.
• Increases your stamina and energy.
• Realigns the imbalances in the body.
• Relieves from unwanted stress.
• Relaxes the body, mind, and spirit.
• Eliminates toxins.
• Improves blood circulation.

It is very much important to choose a right healer who can who
can assure that God’s love and light heals the person in need
effectively. You must find a healer who is clear in his mind and
offers to heal without any discrimination. The healer should not
pick up the unwanted and unnecessary energies from his client.
He should let them go off as quickly as possible and be a clear
channel of healing. The healer should be able infuse confidence
and make the person comfortable. The behavioral patterns, health
and vitality of the healer should always show that he is clear
and detached.

The spiritual healing process can be done over phone, from a
distance or even in person. There are number of cases where the
long distance healing has been effective. It has helped lot of
people come out of their trauma. The healer simply focuses on
the person and sends the spiritual healing. The healer will
continue the healing process for certain days till he feels that
it is sufficient.

Even the spiritual healing process through phone is effective.
A good healer will sense the feeling of the person or see the
energy field and understand the situation during the
conversation over the phone. Once the healer identifies the
condition or the situation, he states a loud prayer. This prayer
indicates the start of the healing session linking the healer
and the other person. The healer keeps sending healing energy to
the person who thereby starts relaxing and breathing in the sent
healing energy. The person receiving the healing energy has to
remain open throughout the healing process. A strong belief in
the healing energy will render effective results.

Similarly in hands on healing process, the healer interviews
the person and starts the session with a prayer. He will channel
the healing energy which will travel through the body and heal
the needed areas.

A good healer can certainly relieve the people suffering from
problems and stress and enable them to enjoy a peaceful life. A
healer should make the person feel uplifted in his/her presence.
Spiritual healing helps in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Spa India: Get Real Spiritual Healing

Spa India: Get Real Spiritual Healing
By Amit Bhalla

The word spa conjures up images of mud bath and meditation
classes but in reality, spas are much more than massage
therapies and meditation. Basically, these spas are the centers
for getting total spiritual and physical relaxation. However,
spas are making a big difference in human lives but they got
recognition very late; perhaps, people were not informed about
their effectiveness therefore they never gave preference to
spiritual healing through Ayurvadic massage. In fact, now people
have realized the importance of spiritual living, as they are
spending most of their free time in having exotic treatments in
various spas. Since combination of body, senses, mind and the
soul constitute life, spiritual healing can usher one’s way to
better living through balancing all those four components. These
components are consistent and should be kept in proper harmony,
as improper functioning of any of these components can lead to
various physical and psychological problems. Ayurvadic
treatments are based on this concept of holistic healing
therefore, Ayurvadic treatments not only heal our body but also
give us great relief from spiritual problems. When it comes to
finding a spa in India, one can find a wide variety of spas and
Ayurvadic healthcare centers in India, as this country is the
origination place of Ayurveda and Yoga.

Since spa in India is considered as the best place to heal
tired mind and soul, one can always have great treatments from
Ayurvadic therapies. In fact, these spas are the perfect way to
get complete relaxation, as therapies that these spas offer
helps in extracting exhaustion from one’s mind and body. These
spas offer treatments that directly affect human soul, as they
believe that to maintain a healthy life, your soul must feel
relaxed and nourished. This holistic treatment can give you
great relief from many mental and physical problems; perhaps
this is the reason why every year thousands of people are
visiting spa in India.

In past times, only Ayurvadic ashramas used to offer these
massage and Yoga based treatments but with changing time,
high-tech beauty saloons and resorts have also started offering
spa services. Now Spa in India represents the perfect blend of
Ayurvadic treatments and high tech luxurious environment. In
fact, these spas are attracting people from all over the world
and providing them with best massage and meditation therapies.
Every year thousands of tourists are visiting India to have
exotic massage and other Ayurvadic treatments.

Destination spas are the most preferred choice of international
tourists; basically, destination spas offer a wide range of
services such as mind and body fitness, healthy eating,
relaxation and meditation based treatments. Generally, people go
there for at least two or three nights and immerse themselves in
the exotic environment of spa. Most of the people visit spa in
India to change their lifestyle, as they believe that their
present lifestyle is causing various mental and physical
problems. Moreover, destination spas also offer many additional
amenities such as golf, tennis, swimming and delicious cuisine
of your choice.

The Role Of Spiritual Warfare In Healing

The Role Of Spiritual Warfare In Healing
By Dr. Jay Snell

Healing is probably the most misunderstood truth in the Bible.
More false notions exist about healing than any other doctrine.
For this reason, many are not healed who could be healed.

The greatest misunderstanding for believers concerning healing
is to wrongly assume that faith or divine healing must be
instantaneous. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Although
some healings occur in an instant, most of them require a
process which involves a length of time.

From my humble experience, I will say that up to ninety nine
percent of all healings involve a process. This process is just
another way of saying, “Up to ninety nine percent of all
healings utilize Spiritual Warfare.”

For these reasons, many are not healed because the one
ministering healing to them quits before the battle is won. They
quit before they are through. They might put on a good show by
shoving the sick one down to mimic the presence of God, but the
sick one is still sick. What a tragedy. What a phony, just to
look good for the crowd.

The name of Jesus is our primary weapon in healing by warfare.
Learn this now: you may have to use this mighty name over and
over and over before the healing is complete!

Don’t be afraid of it. Just use it and keep on keeping on
keeping on using this Name until the healing manifests totally.
You see, sometimes, the healing comes (in response to this great
Name) in stages.

In other words, the pain may leave first. Then, the redness may
disappear. Then the fever may break. Finally, the infection is
killed.

This may not be the exact order but you get the picture. Many,
many healings require a process of Spiritual Warfare which
involves the passage of time.

Think of using Jesus' name like a "sledge hammer" in the
following way. Suppose you were driving on a mountain road and a
rock slide occured. Boulders fell in front and in back of your
car.

You are trapped and cannot move. You have a sledge hammer in
your trunk and the only way out is to break the boulders in
pieces small enough that you can throw them over the side and
out of your way.

You begin to hit the boulders with your sledge hammer but you
don't even put a crack in them. You continue hitting them and
finally you break off a small piece from one of them. You are
encouraged.

You continue the beating process and knock another piece out of
them and throw it also over the side out of your way. You
continue this use of your sledge hammer until you completely
beat a path out of the boulders.

This principle of continued use of the sledge hammer is the
same principle behind using Jesus' name for healing. Even using
His powerful name, many times you must use it like the sledge
hammer above. You must use it over and over and over again .
Then and only then does a divine healing take place.

This is the role of Spiritual Warfare in healing.

Spiritual warfare for healing takes time and patience but
healing comes when you utilize it.

Importance of Spiritual Healing

Importance of Spiritual Healing
By Casey Fortuna

Understanding beyond the simplest facts of life brings more
meaning to one’s existence. Once people are able to recognize
the true meaning of their existence and recognize the needs of
their inner selves, the more exciting and fulfilling life would
be. It is so much better to wake up each day, embracing each
morning, knowing what you are here for. In this way, people are
driven, they are motivated and they function well. Discerning
one’s true passion takes awhile though, given the various
external influences we are exposed to and some internal
struggles we deal with.

Most of the time, people’s enemy is oneself. It is human nature
to feel fear, to be skeptical about one’s capabilities and to
settle with what is usual. This attitude can limit one’s
potential. As human beings, we are supposed to grow as
individuals, find within ourselves our capabilities and use them
for our growth.

Breaking from the limits that chain people, it is important to
know who we really are through listening to what our inner
selves are telling us. Spiritual healing is an effective tool in
achieving such goal. Spiritual healing enables us to gain
greater wisdom. Greater wisdom, in turn, helps us understand
what is beyond the physical realm of this world. Aside from
serving as a tool to gain higher truth, spiritual healing is
also very beneficial to one’s physical health. Nowadays, it is
very common to seek spiritual help as a means to cure diseases
and improve health. The human body consists of different levels
such the physical body, which the most apparent, and at a deeper
level is the spiritual component. The two affect each other. The
weakening of the physical body can be a manifestation of the
dysfunction of the spiritual component. In turn, the weakening
of one’s spiritual health can lead to illnesses that are
manifested in the physical body. In the interest of
self-preservation, it is not enough to solely address the needs
of the physical body. Taking care of one’s spiritual health is
equally important as taking care of one’s physical body.

Spiritual healing is a vehicle to penetrating to people’s
deeper being. Humans are complex creatures; our identity is not
only defined with what is seen on the surface. There is a lot to
discover underneath and knowing what lies inside us is very
important to shaping the totality of our identity. Spiritual
healing is key to self realization; to maximizing our potential.

Spiritual counseling brings us to what spiritual practitioners
call as soul, which is the seat of our inner feelings. Letting
it express itself can lead us to understanding what we truly
desire; what we are truly capable of hence, freeing ourselves
from negatives elements that bind and limit us.

Spiritual counseling can bring us one with our self which is
the prerequisite of understanding life and our true purpose. To
gain understanding to things that are external to us, we should
first look back, reflect within ourselves and understand who we
truly are.

Spiritual Healing

Spiritual Healing
By Jason Powers

For thousands of years, human beings have seeked the advice of
their elders or wise folk for a type of illness no medicine can
cure. Emotional pain and depression are some of the worst times
of a person’s life, but they are not beyond cure. There are
figures who stand out amongst the crowd, who contain a mastery
of being able to comfort those who are in need no matter what
the situation.

The majority of emotional and/or spiritual healers is amongst
the religious groups of the world. Each have their own methods
of dealing with matters. The Buddha and Sikh see meditating as a
form of emotional healing, whilst Muslims and Jewish see their
holy book(s) as a cure. However, Christians put their faith into
one God, praying for forgiveness of sins. This one true God is
willing to forgive all as long as the sinner is truly sorry of
his wrongdoing and will attempt to understand his/her mistakes.

The mercy of God expands everywhere; he will never let you be
alone. No matter where you are or what you are doing, regardless
of how you feel about him, he will be there for you. During the
time of Jesus, he showed the world how to be a good person and
live the Christian life by setting out the 10 commandments which
rule over every law of the prophets, the kings and the wealthy.

One form of connecting to God is through prayer. There is no
fixed way to pray; however, most feel comfortable by bowing
their head in a quiet place and just talking to him in their own
way. Most will see this as a powerful way to pray and some
people will receive a direct message back from him, but he has
methods to connect back to you. Sometimes through His word or
through a man/women of God; however He speaks it doesn’t matter,
what matters is that you know His voice. If you ask Him to help
you in your job or some other area of life He will be there for
you, just ask. The next day when that prayer is answered would
you consider it to be coincidence or did he intervene and give
you the courage to walk in that need?

One other way the Lord helps many is through their Church
leaders they are very helpful at times if they are lead by the
Holy Spirit. They can pray with you and for you even after you
are gone home; continual prayer is powerful. Young or old, an
anointed Minister is a person who through agreement can see
miracle after miracle, but first you must trust that minister so
that you can share your problems with that person.

Throughout your growth, from Birth, to christening, to
confirmation, to Marriage, to death, our God will always be
there. However, many lose their way during life, suffering from
depression, peer pressure and feel that admitting to being a
Christian is not "Cool". If you can stick to something you
believe in through the darkest of time, you will have a sense of
pride in you that you are standing with and for something which
has given you everything you own.

Of all the hordes of people pleading for the Messiahs help, he
will always have the time to listen to you.

Spiritual Fortitude

Spiritual Fortitude

By G.I.A. Devotions

Mary Poppins is “practically perfect in every way.” Real people, however, find it difficult to consistently proceed with perfection. We are told to abide by God’s teachings, but perfection – for us mere mortals – is not attainable. We want to follow in Christ’s footsteps. But let’s face it: those are some pretty big shoes to fill. What a relief it is to know that God doesn’t expect us to imitate His perfection. He does, however, require us to attempt righteousness. “There is none righteous, no not one... For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:10b & 23

Outside her classroom, a teacher hung a sign on the door that said: “Welcome to class, where we strive for progress, not perfection.” Our Heavenly Father instructs us to do the same. He knows that we will falter, fall prey to the evil one, and (often inadvertently) commit sin after sin. Just like any parent, however, God wants his children to avoid doing wrong and strive to make good choices. “And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right.” 2nd Thessalonians 3:13

God wants us to learn from the mistakes we inevitably make. He wants us to come to Him for forgiveness and then turn away from our humanly wicked ways. No matter how badly we mess up, if we only confess our sins, God has promised to forgive us. In fact, our sins have already been paid for when Jesus bled and died on the cross for us – more than 2000 years before we were even born. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

How can we repay the priceless gift of eternal life? You already know the answer. We honor God by making a commitment to obey His rules. He gave us these laws so that we can live in peace and with purpose. The Bible teaches us that if we know God, we will keep his commandments. Being good is a by-product of loving the Lord. “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is the fullness of joy.” Psalm 16:11a

We have a loving Father who has set down some ground rules for living a safe and fulfilling life. He knows we aren’t going to make it through a day without sinning. He knows we aren’t perfect. He allowed us to have free will so that we can choose to follow Him. We don’t follow Him because we have to. We follow Him because we love him. If we have accepted Jesus as our personal savior, we will make a conscious effort to live each day in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. “…If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

Mystical Abstract Art

Mystical Abstract Art
By Tim Seaward

When attempts have been made to describe a work of abstract art
many people have used words like "feelings", "emotions", and
"soul". I think these words are clues to what is actually
happening within both the viewer and the artist.

The world of art and the environment of the mystical go back a
long way together with many facets in common with one another -
one being that they both seek to look into a deep unknown - and
then seek to manifest it into this physical world by one means
or another.

Therefore it is understandable that a non-representational
picture can be difficult to comment on. The viewer might be
"moved" by the artwork, but they may not really know why. I
believe it has something to do with their sleeping soul being
gently (or violently) shaken into a specific awareness. The
earthy physical body may have very little understanding as to
what might be happening, so they are left to struggle in
explaining a spiritual concept from a physical point of view.

However, as an artist who has acquired (and lives by) a little
understanding of certain spiritual aspects, here are my
offerings of what I believe happens when a viewer comes across a
mystical abstract painting.

In order to do that I want to present the whole episode from
all aspects:

The Spirit
One of the Spirit's major intentions is to bring spiritual
understanding into the physical realm. One way to do that is to
enter time and manifest a potential opportunity for a receptive
body. That receptive body can either be the person being offered
the opportunity - or the messenger of it. If they are the
messenger then there are many ways in which that message can be
put across ... and one of them is by producing a provocative
illustration or allegory in the form of an abstract painting.

The Messenger
... Or Artist in this case ... Or more specifically an artist
who is prone to take note of their own inner enigmatic visuals.
Once inspired the artist then sets about translating these
visions into a personal style of depiction. I think it is quite
probable that many an artist will be unconscious of what exactly
they are putting down upon the canvas ... all they might know is
that there is an urgent complusion to work with particular
colours, or in a specific style.

The Art
A personalized manifestation of the inner visuals ... portrayed
on board or canvas - or any other handy appropriate medium at
the time. The artist lets the visual take shape in their mind
and allows for interpretation into the physical world ... which
results in an artwork of surreal allegory, or be-riddled story,
or just a simple abstract presentation of specific colours or
shapes. Each element of the art will include (or be) a potential
key ready to allow the appropriate viewer entrance into its
intriguing yet creative environment.

The Viewer
A receptive observer viewing the art may initially have an
indefinable affinity with it. They are perhaps first emotionally
drawn to the image before them. And as their thoughts begin to
trigger other thoughts, gradual realizations start to become
apparent ... gaining strength until they acquire a personal
creative understanding seen only by themselves but which may
eventually involve others who come into contact with them.

The Gift
The originally unknown vision now begins to unfold its truth
within the receptive viewer. This can be in many guises ... a
simple affirmation ... a personal revelation ... a specific
spiritual, mental, or inner encouragement ... an energizing
edification for a hungry or floundering soul ... offering a
sense of contentment within a challenging situation ... This
gift can be as simple or as complicated as is required for the
viewer. Its influence can be timeless - remaining relevant over
a period of days, weeks, months, or years.

So the next time you seek to produce a piece of art or decide
to visit a gallery do not hesitate or dwell upon any lack within
you ... rather open your eyes (after all they are supposed to be
the windows of the body) and prepare yourself to either see in
order to create - or see in order to receive.

Spiritual Friendships

Spiritual Friendships
By Meilena Hauslendale

As we walk along our paths in life, we will encounter several
forms of friendships. There will be friends of convenience,
friends by association, and friends of the heart. Friends out of
convenience are friendships that you might have simply because
you both are accessible to one another. These friendships are
common in a work or school environment as people are united by
place alone. You might even term these friendships as
‘associates’ instead of friends, because you associate with one
another because you feel that you have to.

These types of friendships can easily disappear as quickly as
they came or they can actually turn into more meaningful
friendships as time moves on. Then there are friends by
association, friendships that exist because of an association
with another friend. You might acquire these forms of
friendships because of your current friends. You acquire your
friend’s circle of companions and make them your own. These
associations can lack strong foundations and even knowledge of
one another, but either way, you respect them as a part of the
friend that originated the encounter.

Then there are friendships that are few and far between,
friends of the heart or friends of the spirit. You may find this
form of friendship with or in addition to your significant
other. This type of friendship is guided through a profound
spiritual connection. They are very pronounced and spiritually
ignited. They can overcome distance. They can surpass cultural
and language barriers. They can surpass age and even gender.

They do not exist out of convenience or association. These
friendships exist out of respect and purpose. This unity of
beings connects our hearts to our souls. They remind us and
encourage our greatness and contribute to our over all
well-being. These friendships exist on the purest of levels.
They are not sexually motivated. They do not even necessarily
rely on the power of any physical contact. They exist on a level
all on their own.

What these friendships do touch are our hearts. They leave
precious imprints where they matter the most. These friendships
are gifts unto themselves as they are aligned with our inner
workings and details. They somehow give us comfort no matter
what our state of mind and they seem to blanket our worries with
little or no effort. They exist not out of force, but out of
care.

These spiritual friendships allow us to actually feel the
insides of another. They allow us that close of a connection
that typically both people can feel the others thoughts and
emotions. We are attracted to them because we are intended to
be. These friendships may baffle and surprise us as they can
sneak up on us quickly, but they are friendships that need not
go unnoticed and certainly not forgotten, for however long they
are to stay.

Spiritual Identification

Spiritual Identification
By Meilena Hauslendale

There are so many differences in our world. Our cultures are
different. Our languages are different. And our beliefs are
different. We come in different shapes and sizes. We each have
personal differences and ideals that allow us to identify who we
are and what we contribute to our societal makeup. Each one of
us is an intricate part of the whole.

Our differences allow us to complete all the functions that are
required for our world to run smoothly. However these
differences are not always applauded for their greatness.
Instead they are used to continue our separation.

We use these differences as excuses to not pursue unification.
We use them to divide, not conquer. Even the realms of religions
have at some point divided us instead of uniting us. Perhaps
what is missing is the pursuit of spiritual tolerance, a belief
that allows us to tolerate others’ religions, race, or creed by
simply focusing on our own spiritual identity.

After all, our experiences of spirituality are personal. Even
though our environment and encounters influence our direction,
it is up to us to decipher what path we choose to take. We can
choose to recognize our path or we can choose to avoid it. Some
paths lead to spiritual groups and some lead to individual
practice. Some people may identify with particular religious
beliefs and some may choose to establish their own belief or
practice. As long as the goal is for a universal goodness, the
belief or practice is of worth.

Whatever road allows you to acquire your spiritual identity,
travel. Whatever practice allows you a tranquil mind, then by
all means succumb to your intuition. If we stop to listen and
address what we feel is right and proper, then we are addressing
our own spiritual identity. We need not cling to a practice or
belief simply because we were born into it.

We can create our own beliefs and therefore our own identities.
Our beliefs would naturally be different as all of our
experiences in life are different. No one individual has had the
exact same life as the other. Sure we have similarities, but our
journeys are really quite individually mapped. It would be only
natural for us to develop our own concepts and pursuits based on
our experiences.

Spirituality is not a matter of force or inheritance. It is a
matter of the seeker pursuing a higher understanding of
themselves and the world around them. Spirituality is what we
acquire when we stop and take a moment to realize a universal
greatness is at work here. This universal greatness does not
separate us, but unites us as whole. This universal energy
relies on all of us despite our religions, beliefs, culture, or
language. It is the core of our identity. It is the makeup of
our existence.

Some long for the camaraderie of group belief structures and
that is quite acceptable. However, do not allow the group
conscience to overcome your own. You still have the
responsibility to identify yourself and your own nature. A group
may assist you in self realization, but they do not govern your
own intuition unless you allow them to do so. Pay attention to
yourself. If something doesn’t feel right or comfortable then
chances are your intuition is right.

Don’t be afraid to develop your faith and practice it on your
own. If you feel comfortable with this concept then it is for
you. If you need guidance or others with similar lines of faith
then a group may be more suitable. Allow your spiritual practice
to go where it needs to. You will eventually settle into a
foundation that will continue to grow and develop throughout the
years.

The beauty of spirituality is it allows us to define and focus
on our roles in our society. We no longer need to focus on what
we feel is right for others as that is not our responsibility.
When we focus on our own spiritual goals and attainments, we are
doing a great service because we are essentially allowing others
to do the same.

What Is Spiritual Enlightenment

What Is Spiritual Enlightenment
By Spiritual Now Editors

The three stages of enlightenment
Spiritual enlightenment is the basic goal of any spiritual
practice that you undertake. Spiritual enlightenment marks the
culminating point of your practices: when one attains spiritual
enlightenment, one feels the unity of soul with everything and
all the mental and physical engagements are left aside.
Spiritual enlightenment is the possession of highly evolved
souls, and great spiritual masters of the whole world propagate
the fundamentals that they experience through spiritual
enlightenment.

As it seems, spiritual enlightenment is often categorized into
levels for practical purposes. Highest stage of spiritual
enlightenment marks the attainment of God, but still there are
certain levels through which the individual needs to evolve. It
is like rising from the levels of animality to which we often
tend to degrade ourselves. From the levels of animality, we rise
to the level of humanity, which constitutes our true nature. And
further from humanity to divinity, where we merge back in the
source from where we have come. Let us, for our practical
purpose, put them in stages and analyze the state of being in
each stage:

The first stage of spiritual enlightenment
At the very first level of spiritual enlightenment, the
individual starts experiencing the reality as it is. It means
that your mind ceases to interfere with what you are
experiencing. Quite often, we are engaged in continuous talk,
gossip, analyzing the environment around us, planning about
future, and so on. However, when spiritual enlightenment dawns
on your being, you take everything as it is.

The second stage of spiritual enlightenment
At the second stage of spiritual enlightenment, you feel
yourself in almost everything around you. You feel that you have
some connection to every object and every individual in the
world. It is like losing your own individuality. Spiritual
enlightenment has its culmination at merging the soul in Supreme
Soul, and this is where you start experiencing it. You feel that
you are not individual anymore and not separate from anything.
You feel that you are in everything and everything is just a
part of the Supreme Soul from where you also have emerged.

The third stage of spiritual enlightenment
At the third stage of spiritual enlightenment, you no longer
feel connected to everything but realize you are everything.
Because spiritual enlightenment gives you the experience of
oneness with God, you feel that you are not separate from
anything. You are not merely the body, sense, mind, and faculty
of intellect: you are what everything else is. This stage of
spiritual enlightenment imparts the direct experience of
oneness.

Spiritual enlightenment is the fruit that sets you free, as you
lose all wants and wishes to receive the fruits of your actions.
You feel the bliss of completeness through spiritual
enlightenment. At first it gives you the feeling that you need
"Light". At the next stage, you feel that you are merging in
"Light". At the culminating stage, you feel that you are no more
separated from "Light"—you and "Light" are one.
